The Amy Gillett Bikeway project is progressing following years of uncertainty about funding.
A resolution to increase funding for Stage 4 of the project has passed in the Adelaide Hills Council Chambers after delays caused cost blowouts.
The track will be extended from Mount Torrens to Birdwood, with plans to continue the infrastructure up to Mount Pleasant for Stage 5.
Federal Member for Mayo, Rebekha Sharkie MP and Adelaide Hills Council Acting Mayor Nathan Daniell have announced the news this week after a resolution to increase funding for the Bikeway passed in the Adelaide Hills Council Chambers.
Council have committed an additional $500,000 to cover the shortfall in Federal and State Government funding and will also undertake ongoing maintenance of the forth stage of the project.
Total funding for the project is $5.7 million.
