Communities across the Murraylands, Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula are being encouraged to rally behind their local towns, with public voting now open for the 2026 Ag Town of the Year award.
More than 90 towns from across South Australia have been nominated this year, recognising communities that showcase strong agricultural industries, innovation, resilience and community spirit.
A large number of local towns have made the list, including Murray Bridge, Mannum, Callington, Cambrai and Bowhill in the Murraylands and Riverland region.
On the Fleurieu Peninsula, nominees include Goolwa, Strathalbyn, Mount Compass, Myponga, Yankalilla, Paris Creek and Willunga.
Adelaide Hills communities in the running include Meadows, Echunga, Flaxley, Macclesfield and Woodside, while nearby Mount Pleasant has also been nominated.
The annual award celebrates towns that embrace their farming heritage while helping drive regional growth and development.
Lameroo was named the Agricultural Town of the Year in 2025, celebrated for its agricultural innovation, resilience, and community spirit. The Mallee town, with a population of under 900, was honored for its strong agricultural focus during a tough season, overcoming finalists Keith and Kimba to take the title.
