Tickets for the AFL Summit Showdown next February are now on sale to the general public, following yesterday’s pre-sale for residents of Mount Barker.
The historic pre-season showdown between the Crows and Power will take place on Friday February 21 at 5pm, with the AFL keen to reward the Mount Barker District Council for their efforts over the last two Gather Rounds.
The game will serve as a match simulation for both sides, meaning different lengths of quarters and situational-specific scenarios, as it falls a week before their official preseason clashes.
Tickets are $10 for adults, with kids under 15 being able to enter for free, however those interested in going are urged to act fast after Mount Barker residents were given early access via a pre-sale.
Local sporting associations and community groups will have the opportunity to fundraise by selling food and drinks at the game.
Mayor David Leach says it’s a great event to follow on from the successes of Gather Round.
“Major events provide a boost to our local economy by attracting more people to the district, promoting greater community connection which is important in a fast-growing area, and helping raise our region’s profile,” Mayor Leach said.
“The Summit Showdown will be a valuable opportunity to showcase the SSRP’s capabilities and what can be achieved through high calibre strategic partnerships like the one we have with Adelaide Football Club.”
