The pacesetters in the Great Southern, River Murray and the Country Division in the Hills are moving clear; it’s a very different story in Division One of the HFL. Catch up on all the action from Saturday here:
HILLS FOOTBALL LEAGUE (Division One results here, Country Division results here)
Uraidla Districts have fired a stern warning shot to the rest of Division One of the Hills Footy League, producing an incredibly accurate performance to smash Lobethal on Saturday.
The Demons kicked 23.4 on their way to a 75-point win over the Tigers (23.4 142 to 10.7 67), moving Uraidla Districts into the top three.
The other match from the split round continued the misery of the defending champions, with Nairne Bremer falling again as Hahndorf beat them by 17 points on the road (16.10 106 to 13.11 89).
Over in the Country Division, Kersbrook remains the ladder leader after a 63-point win over Echunga (17.13 115 to 7.10 52) and Kangarilla moved into the top four with a 25-point win against Meadows (14.10 94 to 10.9 69).
GREAT SOUTHERN FOOTBALL LEAGUE (full results here)
Mount Compass have claimed a key contest against Encounter Bay on Saturday, winning by 22 points (9.10 64 to 6.6 42) to put themselves into the top four of the Great Southern Footy League.
The Bulldogs overcame a sluggish start to keep the Bays at arms-length from the second quarter onwards, with Ziggy Vitkunas once again leading the way with three goals.
Elsewhere, defending premiers Victor Harbor are now 0-6 after a 21-point loss to Willunga (13.9 87 to 10.6 66), Langhorne Creek moved into the top five with a 42-point win over Yankalilla (14.8 92 to 7.8 50), and McLaren Districts beat Goolwa/Port Elliot by 203 points (35.19 229 to 4.2 26).
RIVER MURRAY FOOTBALL LEAGUE (full results here)
The top three in the River Murray Footy League all pulling clear, as the Coorong Cats, Imperial and Jervois all won big on Saturday as part of Round 6 play.
The Cats faced a top-four opponent in Mannum but cruised to a 55-point win (19.13 127 to 11.6 72), while the Bluds and Double Blues both drubbed their matchups.
The other match from the round saw Mallee Districts win their second game in a row with a 12-point win over Rambler (7.16 58 to 7.4 56), meaning the Storm are now on a winning streak after previously being on a 26-game losing run.
