Queensland fruit fly has been eradicated from Glynde, relieving restrictions on some Adelaide Hills growers caught in the 15km outbreak zone.

PIRSA announced today that the area was fruit fly free after extensive efforts over the last 14 months, which included on-ground baiting and the release of sterile fruit flies for 12 weeks around the zone.

Restrictions on taking fruit/vegetables in or out of the zone are now finished, with those growing susceptible fruit and transporting it to other vulnerable areas no longer required to treat it.
