Screw you cost of living crisis!

It’s happening again, Australia’s major banks have started increasing interest rates again after the Reserve Bank hiked up the cash rate. Which sadly means a lot of Australians weekly bills are going to get more expensive, again. As if we all weren’t struggling enough.

Right about now I’m sure a lot of you are in a similar place right now in thinking “how do I continue to pay the bills and live my life”, well we have an answer to that! Cheaply. Sunset Picnic at Home

Almost all of these options are going to be cheap date nights at home so prep for that now. But the safest and most comfortable place for everyone is in the comfort of home. Turn your living room or bedroom into an environment where you can enjoy a quiet picnic with your partner, grab a blanket, get some nibbles, something to drink, and watch the light slowly drop from the sky. You can do this over classic picnic games or even just slow dance to your favourite tracks together. It may be small, but it’ll be intimate.

    A Night in the Kitchen

Ever watched Bake Off or Iron Chef and thought you could do that? Well do that! Try a romantic quiet night in the kitchen with each other, and set the challenge of using whatever you have lying about you both must create something to enjoy together. Hey, it might be terrible. But put on some tunes, open something to drink and enjoy some time in the kitchen together being creative with what’s available.

    Nostalgia Trip

Take a trip down memory lane by leaving the house and visiting old spots that are important to you as a couple or as individuals and share those stories. Want to stay home? Perhaps turn this nostalgia trip into a movie night and pick a movie each important from your childhoods and relive the magic.

    Craft Night

We can do Paint and Pinot at home for sure. It doesn’t need to be that exactly, but you can do something crafty together with some low light and music and make something for each other. A painting, drawing, clay gnomes, go nuts and get creative (literally).

    Love through a Lens

This is an old favourite of mine actually but it might not be for all. Go for a walk, grab your phones (or cameras for those who have them) and just go nuts taking photos. Whether if it’s of nature, of things that remind you of them, or of your partner in the wild. It’s so small but it can be some wholesome dumb fun.
