Gotta catch them all, all over again!
Back in 1996 Nintendo released a small video game on the hand held Gameboy device. This small game, played on a pixelated screen in black and white would explode into becoming the most successful and profitable franchise of all time. Pokemon has grown to become an absolute Goliath of the entertainment industry with dominating in markets including video games, toys, TV and movies, and card games. But one of the franchises most successful and critically acclaimed titles is returning to our consoles.
Pokemon FireRed and Pokemon LeafGreen originally released on the Game Boy Advance in January of 2004. But over the weekend the original Kanto game remakes were announced to be coming to modern consoles on the Nintendo Switch.
The games port to the switch is part of the year long celebration for the Pokemon series. The Pokemon series this year is celebrating 30-years since its original creation. Later this week Pokemon is hosting a Pokemon Presents in which it’s likely that it will share details on new, upcoming cards for their trading game, new merch and toys, but more importantly many are eager to see if they will announce the newest game for generation 10.
You can catch Pokemon Presents and Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen on February 27th.
