The wait is over for Borderlands® 4, the latest installment in the genre-defining Borderlands franchise. This highly anticipated looter-shooter is now available worldwide for PlayStation®5 (PS5®), Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Fans on Nintendo Switch™ 2 can join the adventure starting Friday, October 3, 2025.

“On September 12, Borderlands 4 puts the mayhem back into the hands of the fans – the people who made Borderlands a worldwide phenomenon,” said Gearbox founder and president Randy Pitchford. “Borderlands has always been a wild ride we at Gearbox take with our fans, and with Borderlands 4 we’ve given everything we’ve got to make it the biggest and best game we have ever created.”

Set on the vast and seamlessly connected planet of Kairos, players will face the oppressive Timekeeper, a tyrant who has ruled for thousands of years using cybernetic implants called Bolts and an army of synthetic soldiers known as The Order. Players will embark on an epic journey across four distinct regions of Kairos, forging alliances with new and returning characters, battling unique creatures and factions, and recruiting allies to their cause. Along the way, players will wield an arsenal of weapons and abilities as one of the iconic Vault Hunters.
