Early voting is now underway ahead of South Australia’s state election this Saturday 21 March 2026.

Voting centres opened across the state on Saturday, giving electors the option to cast their ballot a week before polling day.

New legislation means voters no longer need to provide a reason to vote early, with the Electoral Commission expecting more people to take up the option.

In the first three hours after centres opened on Saturday morning, more than 21,000 votes were issued across South Australia.

Voters can cast their votes at the Victor Harbor Recreation Centre, The Square Community Centre in Murray Bridge, The Aldgate Village Well, Laratinga Pavilion in Mount Barker and Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Birdwood.

A separate early voting session will also be held at the Narrung Town Hall in the Coorong on Wednesday from 11am until 12:30pm.

Most early voting centres will operate from 8am to 6pm each day until Friday the 20th of March, with extended hours from 8am until 8pm on Thursday 19 March 2026.

Voting remains compulsory for enrolled electors.
