A popular Adelaide Hills hospitality venue is looking for a new owner after the company behind it collapsed with debts of around $5.5 million.
The Union Bridge at Cudlee Creek and its sister venue on Franklin Street in Adelaide’s CBD are being offered for sale by receivers and managers RSM Australia following the collapse of operator Critical Path Pty Ltd.
The Cudlee Creek property includes a cellar door, restaurant, brewery and distillery facilities, with the former cold stores building dating back to 1922. It opened as a hospitality destination in 2022 after being transformed by owners Steve O’Connor and Gerri Milham.
Receivers have appointed property firm Savills to sell both venues, with the Cudlee Creek property being offered as a freehold and the city venue as a leasehold interest.
The sale campaign says the Hills property could continue as a hospitality and beverage business, or be considered for other uses such as weddings, functions and retreats, subject to the necessary approvals.
The company’s creditors include Commonwealth Bank, the Australian Taxation Office and numerous suppliers. The bank is owed about $1.8 million, while the ATO is owed more than $550,000.
Expressions of interest for the Cudlee Creek property close on the 11th of November 2026.
