Both of the Heysen Tunnels will be closed for city and Adelaide Hills traffic for two nights this week, as well as later in March.

The South Eastern Freeway works are part of a $150-million safety refit and will involve installing six new overhead gantries over the roadway to support traffic management infrastructure that will advise road users of traffic conditions ahead.

Most of the new works will take place at night, with the tunnels temporarily closed from 8pm tonight and tomorrow (6 and 7 March), and on March 20 and 21. Traffic management will be in place.
