A truck carrying wine from the Barossa has been gutted by fire on the Dukes Highway, outside Cooke Plains.
Police and emergency services were called the incident yesterday evening, Wednesday 20 September with 5 crews comprising approximately 25 volunteer firefighters.
The driver had safely exited the vehicle and detached the prime mover while flames continued to engulf both trailers.
Firefighters were able to control the blaze in under an hour and remained on scene until the truck was removed.
Fire cause is believed to be a mechanical fault in one of the trailers which were both significantly impacted with damaged costs estimated at $400,000.
