Three people have died following a crash at Birdwood.
At about 1.40pm on Tuesday 24 March, police and emergency services were called to the intersection of Warren Road and Lucky Hit Road after reports a truck and a Toyota sedan had collided.
Three passengers in the sedan, died at the scene. The driver of the Toyota sustained life‑threatening injuries, while a fourth passenger was seriously injured. Both were taken to hospital for treatment.
The driver of the truck was not physically injured and is assisting police with the investigation.
The three deaths are the 24th, 25th and 26th lives lost on South Australian roads this year.
Serious Crash at Hindmarsh Valley
About 30 minutes after the fatal crash in Birdwood, a second crash occurred at Hindmarsh Valley, at the intersection of Victor Harbor Road and Hindmarsh Tiers Road. A 65-year-old Normanville man was flown to hospital with serious injuries, while two others were treated for minor injuries.
Both crashes remain under investigation, with authorities urging motorists to take extra care on regional roads.
