Three teenagers from Victoria have been arrested after they were caught allegedly speeding in a stolen car through Murray Mallee over the weekend.
About 8.15pm on Saturday 25 February, Mannum Police were travelling along Reedy Creek Road at Palmer when they detected a vehicle travelling towards them at 119km/h in 100km/h zone.
Police conducted a U-turn and followed the black Nissan utility for a short distance before losing sight of it.
A short time later a member of the public spotted a vehicle matching the description of the speeding car being driven on the South Eastern Freeway heading towards Nairne.
PolAir tracked the vehicle for a short time until it came to a stop on Nixon Street in Nairne.
Patrols were quickly on scene and searched the area to find three suspects in a paddock nearby.
Checks on the car revealed it had been stolen from Victoria.
Two 15-year-old boys from Victoria and a 16-year-old boy from Victoria were arrested without incident and were charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle and traffic offences. They were bailed from court to re-appear in Adelaide Youth Court on 25 March.
