Serious crash at Monarto South

UPDATE: A driver from Murray Bridge has sustained serious injuries in a crash at Monarto South this morning.

About 7.15am on Friday 12 May, emergency services were called to the South Eastern Freeway, Monarto South after reports a car left the road and crashed into a tree.

The driver, a 29-year-old Murray Bridge woman, was airlifted to the Flinders Medical Centre with life-threatening injuries.

Traffic has been down to one lane for motorists heading citybound with restrictions in place while Major Crash investigators examine the scene. Motorists have been advised to expect delays and take an alternative route if possible.

Anyone who witnessed the crash, saw the red Mercedes Benz travelling prior to the incident or has dashcam footage that may assist the investigation is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au.

The red Mercedes Benz sedan is suspected of being stolen from a Murray Bridge residence in the early hours of this morning. Investigations into this incident are ongoing.
