Police are investigating what led a car to crash into a bakery in Goolwa yesterday.
The incident at Live ‘n’ Let Pie Bakery on Hutchinson Street happened just before 11am, Sunday 27 October.
One of the customers, a 62-year-old woman, was pinned between the car and counter and was taken to hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
There were several other people in the shop at the time who were reportedly showered with glass, including customers and staff.
The driver of the car, a 69-year-old Goolwa woman, was taken to hospital as a precaution but did not appear physically injured according to SAPOL.
SES crews attended and helped to shore up the structure. The car was removed and towed from the scene.
Owners of the Bakery have posted on social media saying they will be closed until further notice.
“Thank you for all your kind words and messages. We really appreciate you all and a special thanks to the wonderful emergency services who attended,” Live ‘n’ Let Pie owners said on Facebook.
“To those who have cakes ordered we will be in contact very soon.”
