Plans have been released for the transformation of Strathalbyn’s old Flour Mill into a bustling community hub, with a gallery, event space and retail sapce.

Owner Jessica Groot from South Australia and her husband from Victoria, have moved to SA after 25 years away, travelling the world.

They have been working to breathe new life into the historic 1250m2 building since buying the former Laucke-owned property in September 2021.

The pair have been devising plans for the building’s future while also considering its past, including mapping, assorting, and cataloguing the building’s equipment and artefacts, with support from Heritage SA.

So long as the plan gets approval, the hope is for ‘The Angas Mill’ to be open by January 2026.

The last day for community members to have their say on the development is 11 January 2023 via the Plan SA website.
