Almost a million dollars worth of government funding has been handed out to eight sporting clubs and leagues across our regions.

The Mypolonga Combined Sports Club were the big winners from the Community Recreation and Sport Facilities Program, with $500,000 set to go towards new changerooms, netball amenities and an updated canteen.

The full list of successful applicants and their projects can be found here.

Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing Katrine Hildyard says the funding helps bind local communities.

“By upgrading and developing local sporting clubs and recreation facilities, more members of the community can come together to connect, be active and enjoy a sense of belonging through sport,” Ms Hildyard said.
