Murray Bridge High School students will be first in line to get a Google Chromebook Laptop made in South Australia.

A pilot program is taking place here and on the Eyre Peninsula, before the rest of the State’s public high school students take part.

Trade and Investment Minister Nick Champion says it follows a partnership between the global tech giant and SA firm Allied.

“Google have very high standards for the assembly of their Chromebooks and Allied have met those standards; they’re the first manufacturer anywhere to do so,” Minister Nick Champion told ARN.

The first 60 Chromebooks will be ready for students before the start of Term 1, with work beginning at the Beverley site.
