Murray Bridge Celebration of Community Resilience

The Rural City of Murray Bridge is making good on its promise to hold a community celebration after abandoning New Year’s Eve plans during the flooding event.

Chief executive officer Michael Sedgman said in December the Council would postpone celebrations as it was inappropriate to have a fireworks display during a time when people in the community were impacted by flooding.

A celebration called “Murray River Glows: A Celebration of Strength and Unity” will take place at Wharf Hill Reserve from June 15-18 this year.

It will feature food vans, music, and an extensive interactive lighting display around the rose garden by the rotunda.
