New data from two of the largest bottle shops in the country has shown how well loved our wine regions are.
The inaugural State of the Grapes Report by Endeavour Group has found that the McLaren Vale wine region is in the top three for wine lovers in SA, New South Wales, ACT and Queensland, while the Adelaide Hills region is the second favourite here among the locals.
The Barossa Valley was the number one region in the country.

Shiraz has remained the varietal of choice for SA wine drinkers, with Sauvignon Blanc and Non Vintage Sparkling rounding out the top three.
SA wine drinkers have also showed the highest commitment to drinking wine from within their own state.
