Man Dies in Multi-Vehicle Crash Near Blanchetown

Police are investigating a fatal crash involving several vehicles at Paisley, near Blanchetown last night.

Just after 5.30pm on Thursday 18 May, police were alerted to a crash on the Sturt Highway near Paisley Road involving three cars and a truck.

The driver of a Mitsubishi sedan, a 43-year-old man from Somerton Park died at the scene.

A 26-year-old woman from Swan Reach driving a Holden sedan was taken to the Angaston Hospital with minor injuries and a 27-year-old man from West Croydon driving a Nissan sedan was taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The truck driver was not injured.

The Sturt Highway was closed to traffic but has now been reopened.

Major Crash Investigators attended the scene to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The man’s death is the 52nd life lost compared with 31 at the same time last year.
