One of the longest premiership droughts in our regions was broken on Saturday in the Hills Country Division, while the rest of the leagues locked in three mouth-watering grand finals of their own. Catch up on all the action here:

HILLS FOOTBALL LEAGUE (Division One results here, Country Division results here)

The long wait for the Macclesfield Footy Club is finally over, with the Blood and Tars winning their first Hills Footy League Country Division flag in 45 years on Saturday.

The grand final was one-sided from the start as Macclesfield smashed Kangarilla by 115 points, capping off an impressive one-loss season.

Thomas Altomare was named best on ground in the dominant win.

Over in Division One, Lobethal are back into the decider after they cruised past Uraidla Districts by 37 points in Saturday’s prelim.

The Tigers will face Nairne Bremer in the grand final in Heathfield as both sides look to add to their trophy cabinets.

A final quarter surge has guided McLaren Districts back to the Great Southern Footy League grand final.

The Eagles kicked five goals to one in the last quarter to beat Willunga by 38 points on Saturday in a high-scoring prelim, with Connor Fitt, Tom Fenoughty and Brett Ellis kicking 10 goals between them.

Next weekend will mark McLaren Districts third grand final in four years, having won flags in 2022 and 2023.

They’ll face Victor Harbor who haven’t won since 1999 and narrowly lost in last year’s decider.

Jervois and Imperial have played out another thrilling final on Saturday, with the Bluds winning by just one point in the River Murray Footy League prelim at Johnstone Park.

Jervois trailed at every change in another low-scoring tussle, resembling their qualifying final with Imperial a fortnight before, however managed to kick four goals to two in the last to squeeze home.

The Bluds will now face the defending champs Coorong Cats in next week’s grand final at Tailem Bend.
