Langhorne Creek have handed Lobethal their first loss of the season in an enthralling top-of-the-table clash on Saturday, as part of Round 14 in the Alexandra and Eastern Hills Cricket Association.
Lobethal posted a solid score of 222 in their innings; Langhorne Creek needed 43 of their overs to chase it down and only made possible by a stunning 103* from captain Adam Clements.
Other matches from the round saw Hahndorf tally an important one-wicket win over Nairne in another top four thriller, while Wistow’s finals hopes are fading after a shock two-wicket win to Woodside.

Meadows have suffered a shock loss on Saturday to put a grinding halt on their white-hot form in the Hills Cricket Association.
They fell to sixth-placed Kangarilla by five wickets thanks to pivotal stands from captain Jake Turnbull and Michael White, ending a six-game winning streak in the process.
Elsewhere, Aldgate beat Scott Creek Ironbank by three wickets to reclaim third spot and Mount Lofty beat Uraidla by four wickets.

Noarlunga and Encounter Bay are now the top two in the Great Southern Cricket Association, after they tallied vital wins against title contenders on Saturday.
The Shoes sent a strong statement with a dominant eight-wicket win over Goolwa, while the Eagles won an entertaining clash against Port Elliot by three wickets.
Elsewhere, McLaren Districts has kept themselves alive with a key four-wicket win against Yankalilla, while Mount Compass all but secured the fifth spot with a 28-run win over Willunga.
MURRAY TOWNS CRICKET ASSOCIATION (full scorecards here)
Tailem Bend are in the top five in the Murray Towns Cricket Association, after they beat fellow finals aspirant Jervois by four wickets on Saturday.
Jervois made 179 in their innings, which was made to look like light work by Lucas Piggott, who made 72 to guide his side to an important victory.
In other matches, both Mannum and the Wanderers are still undefeated after winning on Saturday and Mypolonga won the third vs fourth matchup against Ramblers by four wickets.
