Monarto and Ramblers have picked up important wins for their Murray Towns campaigns, with Round 7 helping them to move into the early finals picture.

The Blackcaps held off Jervois to win by 39 runs, while Ramblers cruised past fellow finals hopeful Tailem Bend to win by eight wickets.

Elsewhere, league leaders Mannum beat Meningie by 53 runs and the blockbuster between the Wanderers and Mypolonga was abandoned due to a wet pitch at the Showgrounds.

GREAT SOUTHERN CRICKET ASSOCIATION (scorecards here)

A rain-interrupted Round 5 in the Great Southern Cricket Association still saw two results, despite last week’s washout.

The key matchup between Goolwa and Encounter Bay went down to the wire, with Goolwa holding on for a 22-run win after they held the Bays to just 117 in their chase.

The other result saw McLaren Districts cruise to a 10-wicket win, after they bowled Victor Harbor out for 71 after six wickets from George Beard.
