There are some upcoming Government-funded retreats in the Hills and Fleurieu region for family carers and their loved ones living with dementia.

Resthaven has secured funding for their ‘Staying at Home in Regional South Australia’ program through to 2026.

The program enables eligible participants to enjoy a retreat together while having 24/7 help from staff.

The family carer can learn more about dementia and how to manage at home, while the person with dementia can enjoy a change of atmosphere and a chance to engage in meaningful activities.

Upcoming retreats include a two night stay next week on Hindmarsh Island and one day trips in Victor Harbor on the 8th and 15th of July.

There are also some upcoming retreats in Stirling in the Adelaide Hills from the 10th to the 12th of September and from the 5th to 7th of November.

Contact Gillian Schulze from Resthaven on 08 8198 2088 or see the Resthaven website to check availability and eligibility for the program.
