A car crash at Cockatoo Valley in the Barossa District led to a person’s death and a serious grass fire.

Authorities were called to the Williamstown Road incident yesterday afternoon, Tuesday 13 February, just before 1.30pm, with fears someone may have been trapped in the vehicle.

It is believed the car, which was travelling west, came around a blind corner on a 100km/h stretch of road before crashing into a pine tree, and killing one person, who is yet to be identified.
