Fatal Aldinga Beach Fire Declared Major Crime

The death of a woman whose body was found following a house fire at Aldinga Beach has been declared a Major Crime as detectives seek further information from the public.

A 48-year-old Aldinga Beach man was arrested by detectives on Saturday night, 21 October, and faced court today charged with her murder and arson.

Emergency services responded to reports of a house fire in Barracoota Crescent, Aldinga Beach just before 3.30pm on Friday 20 October.

Fire crews quickly extinguished the blaze but sadly found the body of a woman inside the home.

The woman, who is yet to be formally identified, is believed to be an occupant of the home, 38-year-old Krystal Marshall.

Enquiries are continuing to establish when Ms Marshall was killed and Major Crime detectives are appealing to anyone with information on her movements between the afternoon of Wednesday 18 October and the house fire two days later, on Friday afternoon.

Police are also appealing to anyone who saw or heard anything in the vicinity of the Barracoota Crescent home between those times, including any dashcam or CCTV footage obtained that may be relevant to the investigation.
