SAPOL has released drone footage showing the extent of damage to the Stirling Village Shopping Centre, following an arson attack earlier this month.

On the afternoon of 15 October, more than 100 firefighters were called into battle a blaze that was believed to be deliberately lit by two 14-year-old boys in the isles at Woolworths.

The blaze caused more than $25 million in damage, destroyed the supermarket and caused significant damage to many other businesses.

The centre was evacuated with reports of explosions and large black billowing plumes of smoke.

Over the weekend, Detectives from the Mount Barker CIB called for witnesses who were in the area around the time, and had not yet spoken to police, to come to Stirling and speak with them.

Around 80 people spoke to Detectives and provided information as to what they saw on the day of the fire.

SAPOL said some of the information that has been gleaned from the exercise will be crucial to the case.
