Driver Charged after Fatal Mannum Crash

An elderly driver who allegedly hit a struck and killed a pedestrian in Mannum has been reported for aggravated driving without due care.

On Sunday August 27, just after 7pm, emergency services were called to King George Street where a 28-year-old local man was in a critical condition after being hit by a car.

He was treated at the scene and airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he died.

The driver of the car, a 72-year-old local man, was not physically injured but taken to Mannum hospital as a precaution.

Major Crash Officers attended the scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The driver of the car has been reported for aggravated driving without due care.  He will be summonsed to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court at a later date.
