Work has commenced to expand the Park N’ Ride facility at Crafers, as the Government looks to further improve public transport options in the Adelaide

85 new spaces are being built to the south-east of the existing park, which will mean at least 120 drivers can leave their car at Crafers to travel to and from the city or further up the South-Eastern Freeway in the Hills.

The expansion will also include new lighting and CCTV to increase safety and security, along with new shared use paths and landscaping.

The State Government-funded $6 million construction comes as 600 new bus services will begin operating in the Hills.

Transport Minister Tom Koutsantonis says the works are important for Hills residents.

“Park ‘n’ Ride sites are a vital piece of our public transport offering, allowing secure and convenient locations to leave the car before jumping on a bus to complete your journey,” Koutsantonis said.

“I am pleased to see work get underway on this expansion just as new bus services commence in the Hills – it shows how serious we are about improving public transport options for Hills communities.”
