A fresh start is on the way for Adelaide Hills Council following this month’s supplementary election and the resignation of Mayor Jan-Claire Wisdom.
Lisa Woolcock, Alex Trescowthick and Richard Gladigau have been provisionally elected, filling vacant seats in the Ranges and Valleys wards.
Woolcock, a Stirling single mum with a background in hospitality and business development, says she is focused on inclusion, youth engagement and sustainable community growth.
Trescowthick, a vineyard owner and winemaker from Lenswood, brings experience in tourism, regional leadership and environmental stewardship. He says supporting local jobs and strengthening community infrastructure are among his priorities.
Gladigau, a lifelong Mt Torrens resident and dairy farmer, has held leadership roles at state and national level in the dairy industry. He says he’ll advocate strongly for local roads, small business, tourism and preserving the region’s heritage.
Their arrival comes in the same week Mayor Jan-Claire Wisdom resigned from her position. Deputy Mayor Nathan Daniell thanked her for her service, including her leadership during the Cudlee Creek bushfire response, while acknowledging challenges in the chamber.
A further supplementary election will now be held to appoint a new Mayor.
