Member for Barker Tony Pasin has lashed the latest Federal Budget, claiming the Government has gotten its priorities wrong.

Two interchange projects in Mount Barker and Verdun were reinstated on Tuesday night, however the Opposition claims the budget did nothing to fix the estimated $3bn backlog of road maintenance projects in the state.

Pasin has also been quick to criticize the lack of spending on farming assistance and council support in regional SA, describing the cost-of-living relief provided as “wall-papering over the cracks”.

He says regional SA in particular was neglected.

“Labor’s Budget fundamentally fails the economic tests,” Mr Pasin said.

“In the midst of this cost-of-living crisis we needed a Budget that got back to basics. We didn’t get it and Australians’ will continue to pay the price for Labor’s wrong priorities and bad decision making.”
