A 23-year-old Bridgewater man is facing court today, after he allegedly assaulted a police officer and multiple fast food restaurant employees late last night.
Police were called to the KFC on Pulteney Street just before 11:30pm, after reports a man was causing a disturbance and refused to leave.
It’s alleged he jumped the counter and assaulted three staff members before police arrived.
He then allegedly attacked one of the officers responding to the call by first punching him, and then biting his ear as he was being restrained.
The officer suffered facial injuries and was given medical treatment.
The Bridgewater man was charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass, three counts of assault, assault police and resist arrest.
He was refused police bail.
