The State Government has pledged to spend $40 million on upgrading a busy Adelaide Hills roundabout.
The Mount Barker intersection of Adelaide, Alexandrina, Wellington and Flaxley Roads, will include increased capacity for vehicles, shared use paths, stormwater drainage and extra street lights.
The project is expected to be finished by June 2026.
Funds are being allocated as part of a State Budget $98M package for road safety.
Also included in the State Budget is $31 million for new speed cameras and mobile phone detection technology across SA roads and a further $10 million to be spent over four years on targeted country road initiatives, including audio tactile line marking, safety barriers and warning systems to alert regional drivers of approaching intersections.
