$140M for Heavy Vehicle Rest Stops

The Federal Government has committed $140M over 10 years to the construction and revamping of heavy vehicle rest areas.

The infrastructure investment will mean truck drivers will have more options for breaks when travelling through the regions.

Local governments can now apply for funding through the Australian Government’s Heavy Vehicle Rest Area grant funding opportunity.

A survey is also available for truck drivers and road users to have their say on the location and condition of existing rest areas and where additional areas are needed, via the Heavy Vehicles Rest Areas site (arcgis.com).
