The Round House has a Birthday and is turning 150

The Rural City of Murray Bridge warmly invites you to join us in celebrating 150 years of the Round House.

On Friday 9 October 2026 from 10am, we’ll come together to celebrate this much-loved local landmark, its remarkable history and the generations of people who have helped preserve it for the community.

Over its 150 years, the Round House has served many purposes – including as a home, post office, school, church, council meeting place and railway residence. Today, it remains an important part of Murray Bridge’s heritage and a place where the stories of our community’s past can be shared with future generations.

The celebration will also look to the future, with the planting of a commemorative tree and the installation of a time capsule – creating a lasting connection between the Round House’s history and the community that will celebrate its 200th birthday.

This is a free community event, with registrations encouraged to assist with catering and event planning.
