For many children, Nippers is the first time they learn how to float when they are tired, how to help a friend in trouble, or how to stay calm in moving water. They learn CPR. They practise rescues. They gain confidence that extends well beyond the riverbank.
As they move into Future Lifesavers, those same children begin stepping into leadership. They work toward nationally recognised qualifications. They learn accountability. They start becoming the calm voice in an emergency.
This matters.
We are a river community. Our children grow up around water. Teaching them how to navigate it safely is not optional. It is essential.
But strong community programs do not happen by accident. They are built by volunteers, supported by families and strengthened by local businesses who believe in keeping their town safe.
Murray Bridge Life Saving Club is still in its early years. We are laying foundations that will serve this community for decades. To continue growing, we need:
• Volunteers willing to step forward
• Qualified water cover and support members
• Local sponsors and business partners
• Support for improved storage and infrastructure at Sturt Reserve
• Community members who simply say yes when we ask for help
Every contribution matters. Every hour volunteered builds safer outcomes for our children.
If you believe in confident kids, safer waterways and strong community spirit, we invite you to stand with us.
Because when we invest in our young people today, we protect Murray Bridge tomorrow.
