Intro to Computers- 5 week course
This Intro to Computing Course will be delivered over 5 weeks.
Sessions will be offered on Wednesday mornings on the following dates:
Time: 10am – 11.30am
Dates: Wednesdays 14th October, 21st October, 28th October, 4th November, 11th November
Topics: The course will be responsive to the needs and interests of the participants and topics may include: ·
- Typing, keyboard navigation & shortcuts ·
- Operating system use (Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, iOS, Android) ·
- File management and cloud storage ·
- Word processing and document creation ·
- Spreadsheet basics ·
- Email communication ·
- Internet browsing and online safety ·
- Video conferencing and digital communication tools ·
- Using AI assistants (Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT) ·
- Basic troubleshooting
Through this course, you’ll gain a clear, beginner-friendly roadmap to confidently use computers at work or in daily life.
Basic computer skills aren’t optional anymore.
The good news is that most of them can be learned in weeks, not years.
This course walks through every fundamental skill, what it actually means at a beginner level, and how to get it on your resume.
