A public celebration of life will be held later this month for much-loved Adelaide radio and television personality Barry Hall OAM.
Hall died on September 8, aged 91, after spending his later years living in Nairne in the Adelaide Hills.
The former 5DN star was a familiar voice and face to generations of South Australians, with a career spanning radio, television and music.
He was also a talented pianist and celebrated organist who regularly performed for community groups and as a guest musician at The Capri Theatre in Goodwood. He frequently played the theater’s famous, historic WurliTzer theatre organ for special events.
In 2014 Hall was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for his contribution to the entertainment industry and community.
Rather than a traditional funeral, his family has chosen to hold a public Celebration of Life at the Capri Theatre in Goodwood. The service will be held on Wednesday, the 28th of October at 10.30am with all welcome.
Hall is survived by his wife Linda, children and grandchildren.
