Macclesfield are once again the kings of the Country Division in the Hills Football League, while the three other grand final lineups were confirmed amid a surprise or two in the prelims. Catch up on all the action here:
HILLS FOOTBALL LEAGUE (Division One result here, Country Division result here)
It’s back-to-back for Maccy in the Country Division, after they battled past Kersbrook to win by 15 (9.14 68 to 8.7 55) in the grand final at Talunga Park.
The Blood and Tars gained control in the second half but were forced to surge late as the Brookers kept coming, eventually holding on to win their second flag on the bounce.
Macclesfield’s Tarrant Tomeo, who kicked a crucial goal late to ice the game, was named best on ground.
Over in Division 1, Uraidla Districts are into their first grand final since 2018 after they beat Hahndorf by 18 (14.14 98 to 13.2 80) in their prelim final in Blackwood.
While the Maggies hung around with accurate goal-kicking, the Cabbage Cutters were too strong late, advancing to the big dance against Onkaparinga Valley.
RIVER MURRAY FOOTBALL LEAGUE (prelim result here)
The Coorong push for a three-peat in the River Murray Footy League is over, after Mannum upset the minor premiers by 30 points on Saturday in the prelim final.
The Roos blasted the Cats away in a rampant first half, kicking ten goals to one to set up a dominant win (11.13 79 to 6.13 49), led by five goals to Kobee Dabinett.
The Roos are now into their first grand final in eight years, where they’ll face Jervois in Meningie.
GREAT SOUTHERN FOOTBALL LEAGUE (prelim result here)
Mount Compass are into the Great Southern Footy League grand final, after shaking off a slow start to beat Langhorne Creek by 38 (13.14 92 to 8.6 54) on Saturday in the prelim.
The Hawks led by 15 at the half before the Bulldogs took complete control, with Mount Compass kicking 8.8 to just 0.3 after the main break.
Tom Pinyon and Ziggy Vitkunas both kicked four for the victors.
The Dogs now face McLaren Districts next week in the decider at Encounter Bay.
