Meadows have announced themselves as a genuine contender in the Hills Cricket Association, after they beat Stirling in a thrilling top-of-the-table clash on Saturday.

Chasing 237, the Bulldogs reached their target on the second last ball of the match, thanks to half-centuries from Luke Tonkin and Haydn Reid, plus a late blitz from Chad Dawe.

In other matches, Scott Creek Ironbank and Kangarilla both won easily to shift up the ladder.

MURRAY TOWNS CRICKET ASSOCIATION (full scorecards here)

Mannum have continued their unbeaten run in the Murray Towns Cricket Association on Saturday but were made to work for the win against third-placed Mypolonga.

The Kookaburras made 177 in their innings and took consistent wickets to keep the Tigers at bay, eventually winning by 15 runs.

Josh Boylan was the star of the match, making 57 with the bat and taking 3/24 off 8 overs.

Elsewhere, the Wanderers belted Monarto by 178 runs to also stay undefeated, and Tailem Bend beat Meningie by 37 runs thanks to 6/13 from Brad Kleinig.

GREAT SOUTHERN CRICKET ASSOCIATION (full scorecards here)

The top four in the Great Southern Cricket Association has broken clear, after all four sides won on Saturday in Round 8.

Port Elliot, Goolwa, Encounter Bay and Noarlunga all won comfortably against bottom five opponents, moving the group two games clear.

With four rounds to play, just four points separates the top four.
