Strathalbyn Home Goes Up in Flames

CFS crews have been called to a structure fire at Strathalbyn this morning.

At approximately 8.40am today, Monday the 29th of September, 30 firefighters in 6 trucks attended the house fire along with 3 support vehicles. A smoke warning was issued for the Milnes Road area around an hour later.

Thanks to their quick response, crews were able to contain the fire to the house and prevent it from spreading to neighbouring properties.

CFS were supported by SA Police, SA Ambulance, SA State Emergency Service, and SA Power Networks.

Three people have been treated SA Ambulance for non-serious injuries.

The house is a complete loss with damages estimated at $500,000. 

Crews will remain on scene and when safe to enter they will use thermal imaging cameras to check the house for any hotspots.

Fire Investigators are investigating the cause.
