CFS volunteer firefighters have attended a house fire at Monarto in the Murraylands.

Shortly after 5:00pm Sunday 29 June, about 25 CFS firefighters in 6 trucks attended the incident at Frahn’s Farm Road, working alongside the Metropolitan Fire Service, SA Police, SA Power Networks, and SA Ambulance Service.

Fortunately, no one was home at the time. The occupant’s dogs have been accounted for and are safe.

Thanks to the crew’s quick and skilled response, two caravans next to the home were saved from the fire.

Volunteer firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are using positive-pressure fans to ventilate the structure. Crews will remain on site for some time to ensure all hot spots are fully extinguished.

The estimated damage is $300,000 and the house has been destroyed.

Fire Investigators have been called to the scene.
