Killing Eve season 2 fast-tracked – Killing Eve was one of the big series to come out of the US last year, with its star Sandra Oh taking home a much-deserved Golden Globe for her portrayal of the titular MI5 agent. Due to popular demand, season 2 is being fast-tracked to Aussie audiences, with new episodes dropping weekly from Monday April 8 on ABC iview. If you’re not caught up on all the espionage, there’s still plenty of time, and the entire first season is also available on iview.
Pretty Little Liars spin-off arrives – Great news for fans of Pretty Little Liars, with the long-awaited spin-off series The Perfectionists finally hitting screens this Thursday night on FOX8, airing Express from the US. This series of course features PLL favourites Allison and Mona, but it’s set in a new town… also plagued by murder! I’ll admit, I was hooked by PLL, watching all seven seasons avidly, so I for one will be tuning in to see how this one stacks up against its predecessor.
Better Things – Season 3 kicks off tonight on FOX SHOWCASE, with a double episode that will fully immerse fan back in the shambolic world of single mum and aspiring Hollywood actress Sam Fox, played to perfection by Pamela Adlon. For those who don’t know, this dramedy is loosely based on Adlon’s real life, which makes it all the more relatable. This season marks the first without co-creator and writer Louis CK, after he was stood down following allegations of sexual misconduct, and there have been mixed reviews so far about how it compares to previous outings, but Adlon is fantastic – super sassy and sarcastic – so I think viewers will stick with her for the ride.
MAFS: Honeymoon Island rumours gather steam – Last week we heard whispers of a possible Married At First Sight spin-off series, a la Bachelor in Paradise, and the rumours that MAFS: Honeymoon Island is happening just will not die, leading me to think it could well be on the cards. According to reports, participants from an array of seasons past have been approached to appear on the spin-off – including this year’s bad boy Sam and Carly, Tracey and Ryan from last season. The formula has already proven successful in the States. And let’s face it, chucking a bunch of reality rejects on an island, plying them with alcohol and leaving them to their own devices, they’ll probably do as good a job as the experts, if not better!
