Foxtel roundup – It’s a massive week of TV this week, and Foxtel is leading the charge when it comes to the laughs. Tonight sees the premiere of two back-to-back comedies on Fox Showcase: Sally4Ever – a risqué and totally not suitable for work British offering from Julia Davis, of Gavin & Stacey fame – and Camping – which is actually the US version of Davis’s British comedy, this time starring Jennifer Garner and David Tennant and penned by Girls co-creators Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner, about a dysfunctional couple’s disastrous camping trip. Both are definitely worth a look – once the kids are in bed!

Family favourite Gogglebox Australia also returns to Lifestyle tomorrow night and Channel 10 on Thursday, and we’ve just been given our first look at the new family joining the couch critics. Malaysian-Australian Tim and Leanne are siblings who blog together and share a passion for cooking shows. I for one am looking forward to seeing how they fit in with the rest of the families.

Wednesday night also sees the season 7 premiere of Strike Back on Fox Showcase, starring our very own Daniel MacPherson, while fans of The Walking Dead will be hanging out for the return of the second half of season 9, which kicks off next Monday, also on Fox Showcase – a season which will be all about the Whisperers, who we got a brief glimpse of before the credits rolled last year.

Murder, Lies & Alibis kicks off – The first episode of two-part true-crime series Murder, Lies & Alibis debuted last night on Channel Nine and it was gripping viewing! It told the story of multimillionaire Phillip Vasyli, whose shocking murder in the Bahamas in 2015 has led to much speculation – and the arrest of his own wife, Donna, for the brutal crime. The docu-series delved deep into Donna’s actions leading up to his death, including her ongoing harassment of Phil’s lover. It’s gripping stuff and it wraps up next Monday night.

Bad Mothers launch date announced – Channel Nine’s new drama will premiere Monday February 18 at 9pm, off the back of ratings juggernaut Married at First Sight. The series, starring Melissa George and Daniel MacPherson, is a murder mystery in the veins of Big Little Lies and Playing for Keeps. I’m not yet sold by the trailer, but I’ll be tuning in to see if it actually has legs.

Instant Hotel returns – Channel Seven will be hoping for a boost in ratings with the return of Instant Hotel, which will air straight after MKR from next Monday. The series returns with two new hosts: House Rules’ flamboyant judge Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and Juliet Ashworth, and has four teams from around Australia competing to have the best pop-up hotel in the country, with the winner walking away with $100,000 in the process.

Breaking news – Emmy-winning The Young and the Restless star Kristoff St John – who played Neil Winters on the long-running series since 1991 – has been found dead in his home in California of an apparent alcohol overdose. He was 52. Social media has been flooded with heartfelt responses from his many co-stars and of course our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this tragic time.
