Carolyn's goss this week:
Take Me Out – This new Joel Creasey-hosted dating show made its debut last night amid a lot of hype, but I have to say, while I was really rooting for this show, for me, it just didn't quite hit the mark. I felt like it was a case of all the best bits being rolled out in the promos, unfortunately, so there weren't any real surprises on the night. The most entertaining part of the show, though, was contestant Mallory, who was firing on all cylinders and didn't fail to provide pithy responses to why she wasn't digging each guy.
Wentworth – Season 6 finale airs tonight on showcase! I won’t give anything away – ’cause I know there are diehard fans out there who will be gathering for their regular Teal Tuesdays viewing parties – but I will just say that in true Wentworth style, blood will be shed and you will be on the edge of your seats right up till the end. No-one does a cliffhanger finale quite like Wentworth, so you've been warned!
Mayans M.C. – Fans of Sons of Anarchy will be cheering as new spin-off series Mayans M.C. premieres tomorrow night on showcase. Now, before you get too excited, Charlie Hunam’s Jax Teller won’t be back –instead, this series focuses on the Sons of Anarchy’s rival motorcycle gang Mayans M.C. JD Pardo leads the cast as EZ Reyes, and something tells us he’ll have just as much impact with female viewers as Jax did before him.
KAK is back! – In a big coup for Studio 10, Kerri-Anne Kennerley has confirmed that she is joining the panel from September 10 in a part-time capacity, job-sharing with Denise Scott. This obviously comes in the wake of the departures of Jessica Rowe and Ita Buttrose and will no doubt provide a welcome boost in ratings for the morning show.
Game of Games – We got our first look at Grant Denyer's new game show overnight, the aptly titled Game of Games. Now this is based on Ellen DeGeneres' US show and it looks like SO much fun! There are thrills and spills galore as competitors duke it out in a variety of challenges. Grant is coming off the back of his recent Gold Logie win, so it will be great to see him back on our screens and I don't think this will disappoint.
