A grieving relative of the father and son killed in the Kangaroo Island bushfires has paid an emotional tribute to the site where they two lost their lives.
Lieutenant Kynan Lang, who is an army reservist, learnt of the deaths of his uncle and cousin the day he got a call to head to Kangaroo Island to help out with the bushfires.
Dick Lang, 78, and his youngest son Clayton Lang, 43, were killed on Saturday 4 January after they were caught in a firestorm on the Playford Highway, having helped others protect their properties.
They were honored at a small heartfelt roadside memorial service on Tuesday 14 January.
An offical funeral for Dick and Clayton Lang will be held on Friday 17 January.
