At 4:47 this morning CFS and MFS crews were alerted to a house fire at High Street, Aloowana, in the Murraylands.
The single resident in the home was alerted to the fire after they were woken by their dog barking at the flames.
The resident then called 000 and was able to safely exit the building.
Two CFS and one MFS fire truck, supported by a CFS Bulk Water Carrier, arrived to find the home engulfed in flames.
Local roads were closed for several hours but have since reopened.
The home has been completely destroyed, with damages estimated at $150,000.
Investigators are determining the cause of the fire, though they do not believe it was suspicious.
