A brand new Motor Museum is coming to Strathalbyn in the new year.
The Strathalbyn Tourism Association is busily working to create a space dedicated to motoring history, motorcycles, vintage, classic, muscle and new cars.
Utilising the site of the old Gilbert Motors which closed in December last year, the museum is set to open on January 22, 2020.
The Gilbert family have been helping the association bring the museum concept to reality.
Strathalbyn has long been a great destination for motoring groups, being centrally located between Adelaide, Victor Harbour, Murray Bridge and “The Bend” near Tailem Bend.
Using Strathalbyn as a base, motoring enthusiasts have a wide variety of sightseeing opportunities within a short distance.
The association is aiming to raise $50,000 for the venture. Donations can be made on the Chuffed fundraiser page.
From 22 January, the museum will be open Wed - Sun 9am - 3pm and any other time by appointment. Later in the year, an official opening party will be held.
